01 · What's Added In This Edition

The same private diary — shaped for a faithful life.

Everything in the Standard Edition is here: end-to-end encryption, on-device AI Companion, the Vault, Legacy controls. The Christian Edition adds scripture-aware features, a faith-shaped Companion, a daily verse, and a 24/7 human prayer line.

A scripture-aware Companion

Trained additionally on KJV, ESV, NIV, and historic Christian wisdom — Augustine to Bonhoeffer. It can suggest verses that speak to what you've written, never preachy, only as a thoughtful friend would.

"Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path."— Psalm 119:105

A prayer journal, properly built

Tagged prayer requests with date, person, and outcome. Watch which prayers have been answered over years. Optional liturgical rhythms — examen, lectio, Sabbath reflection.

"In every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God."— Philippians 4:6

A testimony, captured

Where you came from. How He found you. The dark seasons and the deliverances. Built as a single living document — and when you are ready, the Companion can draw it into a written witness.

"Come and hear, all ye that fear God, and I will declare what he hath done for my soul."— Psalm 66:16

Faith across generations

The blessing for a grandchild yet unborn. The story of your grandfather's conversion. The wisdom you wish someone had told you. Posthumously findable through FamilyTreesAI, as much or as little as you wish.

"I am persuaded of the unfeigned faith which is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice."— 2 Timothy 1:5
02 · The Companion

A patient companion in prayer, doubt, and remembering.

The Companion lives entirely on your device. Your prayers, your wrestling, your private confessions — they never leave your hands. It is not a confessor; it is a thoughtful friend that has read only what you have written.

The Christian Edition's Companion has additionally been shaped by the King James, ESV, and NIV translations and by historic Christian wisdom — Augustine, Bonhoeffer, Lewis, Spurgeon, Tozer, à Kempis, and others.

It will never push interpretation. It will offer; you decide. The first time you write of an answered prayer, it might remember one from your low season — and ask if you would like to see them side by side.

  • Scripture suggestion drawn from what you've written — gentle, never preachy
  • Liturgical rhythms — daily examen, lectio prompts, Sabbath reflection
  • Prayer-request tracking with answered/unanswered tags across years
  • Devotional history — what was your favorite passage in 2031? In 2041?
  • Testimony-writing — drawing the threads of your faith together when ready

Couldn't sleep. The conversation with David is still on my chest. I want to forgive him, but I don't know how to start. Lord, why is it always me who has to make the first move?
Companion
You wrote a prayer about David last March that helped you sleep. Would you like to look at it, or write something new?

You also marked Colossians 3:13 the week before — would that be a place to begin?"Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye."
— Wednesday, 10:21pm
Let's start with the prayer.
New · Companion Mode

Be the subject of your own testimony.

Most people don't write their faith story because they don't know where to begin. The blank page is honest about its weight.

Switch the Companion into Reporter Mode and the dynamic flips. Now it is the journalist assigned to write your story — and you are the subject. It asks the questions a thoughtful reporter would ask: about where you came from, the seasons that broke you, the moments grace arrived, the people you wish you'd thanked.

Over weeks or years, what emerges is a testimony of you — drawn out one question at a time, in your own words. When you are ready, the Companion can compile the answers into a written witness for your children, your grandchildren, or the wall of your home.

  • What was the first prayer you remember meaning?
  • Who was the first person to tell you that you mattered?
  • Describe a season the Lord felt absent. What did you do?
  • What would you put on your wall if your grandchildren could only read one sentence?
The Witness · Field Notes Filed Oct 14, 9:42pm
"I didn't find Him in the church. I found Him in my kitchen, holding a phone."
A continuing testimony of the subject, drawn from interviews over twenty-three months.
Question · 47
"When did you first know He was real?"
The night my brother called. I had told him I wouldn't pick up anymore. He said three sentences and I knew the Lord had been with him in the car on the way. I knew because of what I felt when he stopped talking.
Question · 48
"What did you do next?"
I drove four hours. I have not stopped going since.

The Christian Edition reframes the Vault as stewardship — the documents, wishes, and words you have charge of, kept in one place for those who come after.

Your will

Stored encrypted, with discounted pricing through our partner Christian estate attorneys and online services for those who want to write or update one.

Last wishes

The hymn at the service. The verse on the stone. The scripture to be read at the graveside. The things your family will wish they had asked you, in your own words.

Your testimony

The story of how He found you. The prayers He answered. The prayers He has not, yet. Sealed for whom you choose, opened when you decide — or kept between you and Him alone.

Letters & blessings

A blessing for a grandchild yet unborn. A letter for a wedding day. A voice recording for a hard year. Addressed to the people you love, delivered when you choose.

05 · The Prayer Line
Real people. Not AI.

When you need to hear a voice.

Some moments do not call for writing. They call for another human being who will pray with you. Encrypted Diary's Christian Edition includes a curated directory of trusted 24/7 prayer lines, with one-tap calling from inside the app — so the right ministry is one tap away, day or night.

These are not our phone lines. They are the established, decades-old prayer ministries that have served millions of Christians faithfully — and we believe you should have direct access to them when the moment comes, not a search engine.

  • Curated directory of vetted ministries — CBN, Billy Graham, Crossroads, and others
  • One-tap dialing from inside the diary — no looking up, no fumbling
  • Tradition filter — view lines that align with your background (evangelical, charismatic, mainline, denominational radio, etc.)
  • None of it touches us — your call is between you, the ministry, and the Lord. We never log the call
  • Free, always — these ministries are free. The directory is included with your license

06 · A Witness That Outlasts You

"He being dead, yet speaketh."

Hebrews 11:4 says of Abel that his faith still speaks, though he died long ago. Your faith can speak too — to your children, your grandchildren, your great-grandchildren — only to the people you choose, only when you choose, only as much as you choose.

  • 01

    Scheduled date

A daughter's wedding day. A grandchild's confirmation. A great-grandchild's 18th birthday. The entry, letter, or recording delivers itself when the day arrives.

  • 02

    Inactivity release

If the Lord calls you home, those who loved you will not find your words locked away. After an interval you set, with gentle reminders before, designated entries open to those you chose.

  • 03

    Trusted contact

Name up to five — a spouse, a child, a pastor, an executor. They may request release with a death certificate. The platform verifies; you decide what they see.

  • 04

    Milestone delegate

A trusted friend confirms an event — a baptism, a graduation, a wedding — and the corresponding entries open to the named recipient.

  • 05

    Per-entry tagging

For every entry: Between me and the Lord, forever. Or For [name], after I'm gone. Or For my children's children. Or For the world.

"We will not hide them from their children, shewing to the generation to come the praises of the Lord."
— Psalm 78:4

Through the free FamilyTreesAI.com integration, what you write — only what you choose — can be findable on your branch of the family tree, long after you are gone. Lois passed faith to Eunice, who passed it to Timothy. You may pass yours, in your own words, to people you will never meet.

08 · A Personal Note

Would you leave us a review?

We need to ask — and we want to be honest about it.

We'd love to offer you something for your time. Most review platforms don't allow it, though, and even where they do, we'd rather not. So we won't. No coupon, no entry into a sweepstakes, no points. Just an ask.

If the diary has been useful to you, would you take roughly 7 minutes — we timed it ourselves — and write a brief, honest review on the platform of your choosing? Reviews are how we reach the next person who could use this.

And if the product is meaningful to you, would you consider gifting a license to someone — or simply telling a friend? Both help more than you might think.

Thank you, sincerely, for your support.

— With gratitude,
Jeff Johnson

09 · Questions, Honestly Answered

Things to ask before trusting us with your faith journey.

What does "reserve" mean? When am I charged?
Reservation is free. We capture your email, lock in the $79 launch price, and email you exactly once — when the diary is ready to ship on or around soon. At that point, you'll complete checkout through Stripe. You can cancel any time before then by ignoring our email or replying "remove me." We never auto-charge a reservation.
Which translations and Christian traditions are supported?
The Companion uses KJV, NKJV, ESV, NIV, NASB, and CSB by default. You can set your preferred translation. The wisdom layer draws from across the tradition — Augustine, Aquinas, Calvin, Wesley, Bonhoeffer, Lewis, à Kempis, Tozer, Spurgeon, Chambers, Nouwen, and others — not weighted toward any one denomination. Catholic, Orthodox, and Protestant users have all reported it serves them well.
Is the prayer line really staffed by humans 24/7? Who are they?
Yes — but to be clear, they are not our staff. The Christian Edition includes a curated directory of established 24/7 prayer ministries — CBN/700 Club, the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, Crossroads, HIS Radio, and others — with one-tap dialing built into the app. Each has staffed prayer centers that have served Christians for decades. When you call, you're speaking with their trained volunteers, not ours. We never receive a transcript, log a call, or know that you called.
Will the Companion pray for me, or try to be a confessor?
No. The Companion is explicit that it is not a priest, pastor, or counselor. It will help you put words to a prayer if you ask. It will suggest scripture. It will remember what you wrote last March. It will not absolve you, advise you on doctrine, or substitute for your church community. The right tool for those moments is the prayer line.
My theology is specific. Will the Companion respect that?
Yes. You can set tradition preferences — Reformed, Wesleyan, Catholic, Orthodox, Anglican, Baptist, charismatic, non-denominational — and the Companion will weight its suggestions accordingly. You can also disable the wisdom-layer entirely and have it draw only from scripture in your chosen translation.
How do the daily verses work? Can I choose the source?
A new verse arrives each morning in your diary, chosen from a curated calendar designed in consultation with pastors across traditions. You can pick the translation. You can set themes (e.g., gratitude, lament, perseverance) or follow the lectionary. If you'd rather not have a daily verse, it can be turned off in one click — the rest of the edition continues unchanged.
If I'm a license holder, exactly what do I do to get the upgrade?
Sign in at encrypteddiary.com with the email you purchased with. Click Switch Edition → Christian. The Christian Edition downloads as a software update on your next launch. Your data carries forward without migration. The three years of free updates begin from the day you switch. You may switch back any time, and your data is unaffected.
Is the privacy model different in this edition?
No. Same end-to-end encryption, same on-device-only AI, same zero-knowledge architecture. We never see your prayers any more than we see anyone else's diary entries. The encryption is not optional or different in this edition.
After the three free years, what happens?
Your diary keeps working. Forever. Updates after year three are optional through our standard Continuing Care plans ($29/year, or $299 for 15 years, or $499 for life). The prayer line access continues either way. The license you purchased is yours — that does not change.
Which non-profit organization do proceeds go to?
A portion of all proceeds is directed to a non-profit selected by Sagentica each year, aligned with our values around literacy, family support, hospice care, and end-of-life dignity. We publish the recipient and the amount on our annual giving page, transparently and without ceremony.
